O God, Creator of all that is good, you call men to serve in your holy priesthood. Teach your servant to listen for your voice in the silence of daily life, and to follow with faith and courage where you lead.
Grant him a heart of humility, a spirit of prudence, and a steadfast resolve to be a beacon of your mercy to those in need. May his words bear witness to the Gospel, and may his actions reflect the love of Christ crucified and risen.
Pour forth an intimate union with you in prayer, that he may discern your will with clarity and consent to it with joyful obedience. Shield him from doubt, sustain him in moments of trial, and surround him with wise companions who guide him toward holiness.
Bestow upon him a generous spirit of service, a robust zeal for the sanctification of souls, and a readiness to lay down his life in imitation of the Good Shepherd.Grant him fidelity in the sacraments, especially the Eucharist and Reconciliation, so that his ministry may nourish others with grace.
Instill in him a deep reverence for the dignity of every person and a steadfast commitment to truth, justice, and peace. May his priestly vocation become a light that draws others toward you and a testament to your abiding faithfulness.
